Origins and ideology
A PFLP grew away from a Harakat al-Qawmiyyin al-Arab, or even Arab Nationalist Movement (ANM), founded in 1953 by Dr. George Habash, a Palestinian Christian, from either Lydda/Lod in what is now Israel.
